Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?You do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However if you do have a referral from a GP, paediatrician, or psychiatrist you may be eligible for a rebate. Please see below for additional information about funding options.

What are the costs for psychological services?To find out more about our fees please Contact Us or phone 0451 065 010. Please note that you may be entitled to a Medicare rebate or Health fund rebate. Please see below for additional information about funding options. We are pleased to be able to offer fees that are lower than the recommended schedule fee outlined by the Australian Psychological Society (APS), which is $300 per hour for standard consultations. Full payment of therapy services is required on the day of your appointment. The fees for Assessment services vary depending upon the needs of the client and the number of assessment sessions. How do I schedule an appointment at Mindverse Psychology?To book an appointment you can either Contact Us through our website, or email us at admin@mindverse.com.au. We will arrange a 15 minute intake call to book you with a psychologist that is matched to your needs. If we do not have availability we will provide you with alternative referral pathways.

Can I receive a medicare rebate?Under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (Better Access), Medicare rebates are available to clients with a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and referral from a General Medical Practitioner, Paediatrician, or Psychiatrist. The rebate is limited to 10 sessions per client per calendar year, with a review required after the initial 6 sessions. When the client is a child, it is often important that the psychologist meets with parents/carers without their child present, Medicare rebates are available for 2 out of 10 sessions per calendar year when the client is not present. Can I use my Private Health Insurance to assist with the cost of psychology?You may be eligible to claim a rebate from your private health insurance provider if you have psychology as an extra cover. A referral is not required to use private health. Please advise your psychologist if you intend to use private health insurance, and you will be provided with the relevant paperwork to forward to your provider . You can contact your insurance provider for further information.

Do you see NDIS clients?National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services are offered by practitioners at Mindverse Psychology. NDIS clients are treated as private paying clients, payment is made on the day of the appointment and the client can claim privately with the paid invoice provided. Mindverse Psychology is not NDIS or NDIA registered and therefore can only accept clients who are self-managed. Additional information about the NDIS can be found here.

How long does a counselling / therapy session go for?Sessions are 50 minutes in duration.

Do you offer Telehealth/Online appointments?Yes, Mindverse psychology offers online and in-person appointments. To support the security of your personal information, we use end-to-end encryption telehealth software (COVIU) with strict privacy and security standards.

What is your cancellation policy?We have a 24 hour cancellation and rescheduling policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we request at least 24 hours’ notice. If the appointment is missed without notifying us, the full session fee will be charged. A cancellation fee of 50% of the session fee will apply if less than 24hrs notice is given, and it is not an emergency. Please note Medicare rebates or private health insurance does not apply to cancellations. You will receive an email and SMS reminder 3 days prior to the appointment. Do you have parking at each clinic?Yes, at both Kew East and Blackburn clinics there is parking available. At Kew East there is parking directly out the front on High St or around the corner on Belford Rd. Note that High St is a clearway between 4:30pm-6:30pm. At our Blackburn clinic you will find client parking directly out the front of the building or if it is full there is parking available around the corner on Boulton Rd.
